Blackmagic Design BMD-HDL-AUDMON1RU12GG3 1RU Audio Monitor With 12G-SDI

Broadcast engineers, post-production facilities, and live production crews working in IP or SDI environments will find the Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G G3 uniquely capable for confidence monitoring in tight rack spaces. Its 1RU form factor houses a high-performance amplifier with dual subwoofers and a 2-way crossover, delivering audible monitoring quality that external speakers or headphones alone cannot match in noisy production environments.

The unit accepts 12G-SDI directly from cameras, routers, and production switchers, supporting every relevant format from SD through Ultra HD 2160p60, with automatic signal detection across SD, HD, 3G, 6G, and 12G-SDI rates. The 10G Ethernet port enables direct SMPTE-2110 IP video input without external gateways or converters, supporting NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for discovery and connection management in modern IP broadcast infrastructures. Analog inputs via XLR and RCA, plus AES/EBU balanced input, ensure compatibility with legacy and hybrid signal chains.

Where comparable 1RU monitors offer basic level display, this unit provides 54 RGB segment LED meters switchable between VU, PPM EBU, PPM BBC, and Loudness standards — with a replaceable level scale for standards compliance flexibility. The onboard 2.2-inch LCD displays input format, audio type, and channel selection at a glance, while the scroll wheel and push-button interface allow hands-on control without a connected computer, making it practical for both permanent installs and touring racks.
